We recommend this coffee if you brew it with a filter, a French press or other soft brewing methods, and if you're looking for something floral and fruity.

When you drink a cup of El Mogotón, it's easy to remember that the coffee comes from a fruit. Lemon kick first, with a lovely acidity and well balanced tomato flavours, almost umami, for a very fine balance. If you like elegant washed coffees, go for it!

Founded in 2015 by sisters Ana and Martha Albir Sotomayor, Cafetos de Segovia represents the third generation of a family deeply rooted in Nicaraguan coffee culture. The cooperative provides its members with technical assistance, training in continuous quality improvement and financial support for farm improvements and crop assessments, such as the San Antonio farm from which this lot originates. Finca San Antonio has been managed by Angelica María Hernández López and her family since 2010. The lot is called Mogotón, in honour of the highest point in Nicaragua. It is cultivated on 148 hectares of land at an altitude of between 1,450 and 1,550 metres. The farm uses environmentally friendly practices and provides shade with forest species, fruit trees and banana trees. Low-intensity pesticides (green labels), organic and synthetic fertilisers are used.
